The advantage of cluster spindles resides in the close proximity of their shaft axes. Rather than having individual spindles mounted close to each other, the cluster spindles share the same housing thus facilitating closer center distances. If bore-to-bore tighter tolerance accuracy is desired, thermal variation of the spindles can be contained and controlled by means of a close loop cooling system. Easy spindle replacement and repair can be achieved thru the use of replacement cartridge spindles DIN 69002. Colonial has successfully produced numerous cluster spindles for various applications.
